Farve is Back

Favre posted confirmation of the arthroscopic procedure on his personal website last Friday. He hasn't officially told the team he'll be back, but the vibe around the Vikings is strongly suggesting he will return. Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said after Thursday's practice he wasn't surprised that Favre had surgery. But Bevell insisted his last conversation with the 40-year-old star was not related to football. I think that Brett Farve is crazy, and that Brett is hunting for a ring, and he won't leave without it.

President Obama is behind USA

President Barack Obama told the US 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ squad he'd be pulling for them as they represent the country on the world's biggest stage next month.Obama acknowledged that the footballing extravaganza didn't always resonate with US sports fans more atuned to baseball, basketball and gridiron football, but he told the team they had plenty of support."Everybody is going to be rooting for you. Although sometimes we don't remember here in the United States, this is going to be the biggest world [stage] and you're going to be representing all of us," he said. "We are incredibly proud of what you've done already."

NFL owners pick NJ for 2014 Super Bowl

NFL owners voted Tuesday to put the 2014 Super Bowl in the new $1.6 billion Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. It’s the first time the league has gone to a cold weather site that doesn’t have a dome and, until now, those places couldn’t even bid on the big game. The league made an exception for the New York area, and New York only. But just a few years ago, the NHL experimented with an outdoor game on New Year’s Day, and it was such a success that teams now fight to host what’s become an annual event

The Steelers lose

Their $102 million quarterback isn’t around now, and he won’t play at least until October. The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in an unprecedented situation, preparing for a season that will open without their suspended star. This stinks for the Steelers because now that they lost Ben what are they going to do. Of course they have Brian Leftwich but his numbers weren't that good last year, the Steelers players really need to step up.

Argentina with the win

Two-time FIFA World Cup™ winners Argentina eased to a 5-0 victory over Canada in Buenos Aires in a morale-boosting performance ahead of departing to South Africa on Friday.
Even without the side's superstar Lionel Messi, who was rested and sat watching from the stands, the Argentinians had little trouble from one of the game's minnows as they cruised to a fifth successive victory this year, albeit three have come against second tier opposition.

Four Teams Remainig

The Lakers and the Suns battle for the Western Conference Championship, while the Magic and the Celtics battle for the Eastern conference. Honestly if the Celtics keep playing the way they're playing with everyone, except Paul Peirce, contributing to this team then they're bringing home the championship, but it'll definitely be the Celtics v.s the Lakers in the finals.
